High quality UV stabilised woven silt fence material with an approximate 2 year life expectancy. A temporary structure designed to intercept and retain sediment as it travels across exposed soil while still allowing water drainage. Silt Fence is entrenched into the ground to prevent contaminants from getting underneath. The filter fabric is attached to timber pegs or steel pickets for support. Silt fences are generally considered the last line of defence against erosion and should be used in conjunction with other forms of erosion control methods. A silt fences main strength is the ability to trap larger soil particles such as sand and debris, however, it has little effect on trapping finer soils such as clay.
